"Festival of Authors 2001"
Readings and Book Signings

On Saturday, October 13, 2001, The Litchfield County Writers Project hosted a first ever Festival of Authors. The gathering included almost  40 Litchfield County writers who signed copies of their books, as well as read brief excerpts from their diverse publications. Novelists, poets, children's authors, non-fiction writers, playwrights, mystery writers, and nature writers were included in the event, which was one of the largest single gathering of Litchfield County authors to take place anywhere.

The mission of the Litchfield County Writers Project is to preserve, collect, study and communicate with a worldwide audience the life, art and spirit of the writers of Litchfield County within a broad artistic and historical context. The Project nourishes the creative life of the community by providing a gathering place for reflection, involvement and discovery at the University of Connecticut at Torrington.
